Remote working in Piacenza: work well a step from Milan

Working remotely has changed how we choose where to stay. You no longer need to live in central Milan to be “close to work”: all it takes is a fast connection and a good rail link. Piacenza offers both, with a noticeably more affordable cost of living.

Connection first

For anyone working online, WiFi is the priority. In our apartment the fibre reaches 1 Gbit/s, enough for stable video calls, heavy file uploads and several devices connected at once. A comfortable desk, natural light and quiet do the rest: away from big-city noise, focus comes more easily.

Milan when you need it

The beauty of hybrid remote work is reaching the office or clients only when necessary. With the Frecciarossa, Milano Centrale is 33 minutes away, and there are dozens of direct trains a day. You can attend an in-person meeting in the morning and be back at your desk in the afternoon, stress-free.

Where to switch off

Piacenza is a walkable town: at the end of the day you head out for an aperitivo in Piazza Cavalli, a stroll through the old town’s lanes or a run along the Po. The historic cafés are great for a break or an informal call, and the central restaurants let you round off the day with good local food.

For longer stays

If you plan to stay a few weeks, an apartment with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry beats a hotel: you can keep your routine, cook and organise yourself just like at home. It’s the formula many digital nomads and travelling professionals prefer, combining domestic comfort with the flexibility of remote work.
